This Catholic grotto stands within Iwahig Prison and Penal Farm in Puerto Princesa, Palawan. Established on 16 November 1904, Iwahig developed a system that combined imprisonment with farming and vocational work. Prisoners of good conduct were given land, tools and supplies, and some were permitted to live with their families. The colony was declared a National Historical Landmark in 2004.
